DONALDSON FILTERS TO PROTECT ARMORED MOBILITY VEHICLE

WASHINGTON, D.C., OCTOBER 22, 2013 – Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE: DCI), the world leader in design, development and production of advanced filtration solutions for military, aerospace and heavy industry vehicles and systems, has collaborated with the Thales Australia engineering design team to provide engine intake and crew cabin filtration systems for the new Hawkei Protected Mobility Vehicle (PMV), currently under development with the Australian Department of Defence.

The Hawkei PMV is a 4 x 4 wheeled, light armored utility vehicle named for Acanthopis Hawkei, better known as the death adder, a native to Australia and one the world’s most venomous and deadliest snakes. Donaldson will develop prototype PMV engine and cabin filters, increasing vehicle capabilities so that the Hawkei approaches the efficiency of its namesake. Donaldson Australia, the company’s unit in Wyong, New South Wales, designed the system by adapting Donaldson commercial filtration components, and will coordinate the program with Thales. Production of Hawkei filtration systems and spare parts will continue for the foreseeable future as Thales markets the vehicle for other military forces.
